Mama Rosa Restaurant has beautiful murals round the walls and serves great Italian food, fairly reasonable prices too.

We arrived by air and took airport / city express to Oslo. We were on a business trip and had make a train journey from Oslo so location was excellent, a short walk across the square to central rail station,we were given a room overlooking the atrium which was very dark though the room was very good. The bath drain overflowed a little onto bathroom floor when emptying. We reported it not to have a change of room but we thought it should be reported. Subsequently we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the street which was really great. Also there was a function with disco on in the atrium which was going to be very noisy so they wanted to move us anyway (for some reason they hadnt thought of that when allocating the room). Breakfast was buffet style mainly cold but with a few warm egg dishes and bacon nothing to rave about but ok. Bed and linen beautiful.

Shopping centres and main street on the doorstep. We visited the Mona Lisa Italian restaurant, found ourselves sitting at the same table in the same restaurant as on our previous visit without recognising or realising it. Oslo is expensive and this Italian is very good indeed and value for money. It in a side street off Karl Johann half way up on right if you are going up hill

Excellent location although big roadworks outside still going on, which is annoyingly noisy at 1 am! Shabby room with wayward temperature control. Doors don't shut properly. Very small wardrobe. No in-room safe. Breakfasts OK. Wouldn't go back to this hotel though would to Oslo.

Best parts were Fortress, Resistance Museum, Waterfront and the museums in Brygdoy. Food and wine is cheaper outside the centre but still expensive!
